INTERVIEW

When did you start acting and singing?

I started in musical theater when I was 7 and was immediately hooked. I loved everything about it, from the rehearsals to the camaraderie to the final performances. When I was 10, I decided that it was time for TV and film. My parents disagreed, so I took matters into my own hands and researched online, found an agent, grabbed some pictures out of the scrapbook, and wrote her a letter. I also started taking regular voice lessons around this time, so I’ve been at it for a while!

Who are your singing inspirations?

I have quite a few! I especially love to see other young female artists rising up like Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa, Anne-Marie, etc. I also have my all-time favorites such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, John Mayer, Lana Del Rey, and Kanye West.

What artist would you love to collaborate on a song with?

John Mayer would be a dream to collaborate with; I just love the way he writes songs.

What is the best advice you have gotten?

I have received a lot of good advice, from check my teeth before I film to stand up straight with shoulders back!  But the best advice by far is to keep it all in perspective, have fun, and keep working.

What kind of music do you like?

I’m honestly not tied down to one genre. I love pop, rap, alternative, R&B, reggae, classic rock, and disco! It all depends on my mood at the moment, but I have an appreciation for almost all types of music.

What is your beauty secret?

I recently discovered highlighter which I’m having lots of fun with. For hair, frequent olaplex treatments! Also, my mom’s friend makes these amazing vitamins that have transformed my hair. It takes a lot of abuse on set.

Do you plan on going on tour or doing live shows?

Yes! I’m preparing for a tour next year and I can’t wait to perform in front of a crowd. There is nothing like the energy of a live performance.   Do you see yourself directing or producing in the future?

Right now I’m pretty focused and busy with songwriting, singing and acting, so I don’t see it in my immediate future. However, I will definitely be ready for a new challenge somewhere down the road.

What do you do in your free time?

There’s not a ton of it, but I usually hit my home studio and write/sing. I have a good group of friends that I love spending time with, and I try to hike or go to a spin class whenever I can.

If you could travel to any place in the world where would it be and why?

I really want to go to Venice, Italy. I’ve always wanted to see the canals and it just seems like a magical and romantic place.
