What made you realize you wanted to be an actress?
When I was little, I always knew I wanted to do something different but I didn’t quite know what. When I was super young, I did some fit modeling, but that wasn’t for me. Then, in first grade, I was Dorothy in my school’s production of The Wizard of Oz and I loved it so much, I begged my parents to sign me up for acting classes!
You have had quite a career in your young age acting “General Hospital” one of the longest running daytime soap operas. How does it feel to be part of such a recording breaking show?
Thank you! It’s really amazing to be part of a show that is so iconic. I love getting to tell people I’m on GH because their faces just light up and they say things like “Oh! My mother and I watched that show for 30 years!” General Hospital has impacted so many people and I’m so lucky to be a part of it.
On your first day on set for your first movie, what were you feeling and how did you get through it?
I was ten years old when I did my very first movie, Dead Air, and I remember being so excited. I could not wait to leave in the morning to get to my first day at work. All I wanted to do was act! A few years later, my parents told me that, after my very first take of my very first scene, the director, Corbin Bernsen, turned around and said, “Oh my God, that was amazing!”
What were the biggest struggles you had to face to get to where you are?
One of the most important parts of being an actor is having really thick skin. You handle a lot of rejection so you have to learn to separate your personal emotions from the job. I make an effort to remind myself that I’m strong and I work really hard and that helps me get through it!
What are you proud of ?
I’ve won five Young Artist Awards and I’m really proud of that! I even have them on display in my living room.
Who are some of your biggest Influences?
I’ve been really influenced by Natalie Portman. She’s one of my favorite actresses ever and I love to study her. I mean, The Professional was just amazing!
What new projects are you working on?
Nothing I can talk about right now!
Do you have anyone you admire and would love to work with in the future?
I really really admire Brie Larson. She is outrageously talented and I really like all her work. It’d be so cool to work with her some day!
What are your goals for 2019?
I want to make 2019 all about love and happiness in all things. I want to put out nothing but good energy, to influence both the world around me and myself.
