Who or what inspired you to get into acting?
As a final attempt at overcoming my fear of public speaking, I joined an acting class. After my first class, acting became much more then conquering my fears and I fell in love with it.

What was your first acting job? How would you describe the overall experience from it?
My first acting job was a non-paid student film that dealt with depression. As dark as it was, it’s all I needed to decide and spark that passion with in me and want to make it a career.

You currently star in Tyler Perry’s series “The Haves and the Have Nots” – what’s it like working on the show?
The show is exhilarating to work on because Tyler Perry films the show very fast. At that speed, I can’t help but to live moment to moment. Also the cast is amazing and so talented. It is a privilege to be able to work with that caliber of talent.

You play Broderick on the show – do you personally feel that you relate to him in any way? If so, how?
I think we can all relate in some sense to Broderick. Broderick is trying to live the American dream but through some questionable methods.

Of all the roles you have portrayed, which would you say was your favorite and why?
I’ve played twin brothers a couple of times and those have been the most creative fun I’ve had.

Describe yourself in 3 words?
Passionate, intense and empathetic.

What do you do on your free time?
I watch movies, read, write, workout, rock climb, camp, martial arts, scuba dive, archery and house chores.

You continuously hone your craft. What keeps you inspired and motivated?
The challenge. Every role is different and allows me to grow as a performer and continues to feed my love for the art.

Have you considered directing your own film?
Directing is one of passions, I recently just wrapped directing a web series in Melbourne, Australia called The Full Disclosure. Coming soon!

Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years I see myself directing bigger projects and continuing to work with amazing teams all over the world.
