When did you start doing music?
I started creating music because I love music and the way it makes me feel. I wanted to give that feeling to others. I feel like everyone has a calling, I just answered mine.
Where are you orignally from?
I am from Romania and the music scene out there is a lot different. Coming to America has almost caused an involuntary fusion of sound and culture. My accent is always a part of me, but my music taste is different than Romania’s. “Excuse My Accent” is a perfect example is this fusion.
What are you proud of?
I am most proud of this album. Getting everyone and everything together was a journey in its own right, and as far as the future goes, I want to put together even more projects like this one. I want to continue bringing people together.
Who are some of your biggest influences?
All my biggest influences are the greatest to ever do it. I couldn’t really name them all, because when I say that, I don’t mean all of my influences are just music related.
Do you have anyone you admire and would love to work with in the future?
My dream collaborators would be Drake, Migos, and probably Post Malone. There are many more that I would love to work with, but I guess only the future can tell what will come together.
What were the biggest struggles you had to face to get to where you are?
There are always a lot of struggles in a journey. I feel that to point out the biggest one would be pointless. All of mine together have molded me into who I am, so they all have equal appreciation in my book.
What do you want people to take away from your music?
I want people of all culture and languages to take away a feeling of empowerment—that no matter where you’re from or what obstacles get in the way, you can always persevere and make the best out of anything.
What new projects are you working on?
“Excuse My Accent” in a way is my introduction. It’s my first impression to the world of hip hop. With this album, I wanted to really give listeners an in-depth view of my life and motivations. Music has always been my passion and coming from a foreign country, sometimes translating my own story is hard to do. Altogether I wanted to speak in the universal language of music. With that, an introduction to new fans and new people that my music reaches, I say ‘excuse my accent’. The release date is not official yet, but sometimes in March/April this year.
Tell about your single On My Own ?
Me and BrownBoi Maj have been talking about doing a collaborative track for some time now. We have common interest musically and it was a perfect time to mix out styles to gather to make this amazing song. “On My Own” was just a very good song to give off the kind of vibes that we both were experiencing at the time.
Are you going to be doing any live shows or concerts this year?
This year is going to be very exciting and full of surprises! Shows and music videos will be part of the surprises.
What motivates and do you one day hope to win a Grammy?
My motivations are all over, I can’t point out just one. I feel and go where the universe takes me and music is where I feel most in alignment.
