INTERVIEW

1.  What is your favorite look so far from the shoot?
I honestly like them all, the cookie lyon (inspired) one was getting me in the beginning but then I really love the pink fur- I'm going to go with the Cookie Lyon look.

2.  So lets talk about your character on Vida? How is your persona in comparison to the character you play on Vida?
So the character I play is Mari, who is young woke activist from the area that's a rebel with a very big cause, she is totally against gentrification and I grew up in the area on the east side of LA where the show is based on, so I'm very much Mari except for the fact that I'm not an activist, that is something that I am learning about. But I'm definitely that in your face I'm going to tell you the truth whether you like it or not type of chick, a couple of my friends from my middle school or high school was like "dang you are playing throwback Chelsea from back in the day"- so Mari is definitely a very close character to my heart.

3. Tell us about the chemistry on set, how is your personality in comparison to your co stars? How does it feel to work on Vida?
From day one we said we are going to be family,  we are going to do this and hopefully we have many more seasons. We always said if anyone starts to get bougie we are going to check them. We got tight really fast, this is the first time most of us been in this position, so I think we all bonded over that.  We've all worked before, like I've been acting for over twenty years, but this (show) is something that is really big- it is the first of its kind. The first show that have a female show runner that is Latina on set, all Latina writing room gender inclusive, all of the writers are women, queer women and all of the department heads are women. The majority of the people on set are women or people of color.  Its a surreal experience and its been amazing.

4. When you aren't working what is your favorite thing to do on a daily basis?
I like to sleep! I take a lot of naps, I watch a lot of TV, right now I am watching Entourage. I spend a lot of time with my family, friends and boyfriend. I do karate!

5.  What are your staple items in your wardrobe?
I have to have hoops, Nikes, and Converse. Express jeans, because they are the only jeans that fit me right, express jeans I'm a 2/4 whereas other designers I'm  a 8.
